Overview

The Westing Game is a 1978 mystery novel by Ellen Raskin. The novel follows the story of Sam Westing, a wealthy man who is found dead in his mansion. Sixteen people are invited to the reading of his will, where they learn that they are all potential heirs to his fortune and potential suspects in the mystery of his murder. The group is challenged to unravel the complex clues in Westing's will and discover the murderer among them. As the game unfolds, the characters' lives intertwine, revealing secrets, alliances, and unexpected connections. The novel won the Newbery Medal in 1979.
