Kronos is a Titan and the father of Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Hades, and Hestia. He swallowed all of his children because he feared they would one day overthrow him. Zeus and his siblings were then able to overthrow Kronos. Within the context of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, Kronos is the primary antagonist and is trying to rise to power again.
