Overview

My Brother Sam Is Dead is a young adult historical fiction novel by Christopher Collier and James Lincoln Collier, published in 1974. The novel is set in Redding, Connecticut, during the American Revolution and is narrated by Tim Meeker, whose older brother Sam has joined the rebel forces. Through Tim’s eyes, the novel explores themes of loyalty, family, and the moral complexities of war. My Brother Sam Is Dead won the Newbery Honor in 1975.
