Every Book on Your English Syllabus Summed Up in Quotes from The Great British Bake-Off
It’s been a long year, and right now my sanity is hanging by a single thread known as The Great British Bake-Off.
If you’re unfamiliar, it’s a show that consists primarily of British people baking cakes and supporting one another’s endeavors, and it’s generally a very soothing 60 minutes of television. Occasionally someone will drop their pudding, underproof their bread, or commit some other culinary faux pas that compels me to gasp loudly and shout things like “That’s not a pasty, Bill, it’s an empanada!” as if I have ever turned on my oven before.
For the most part, however, The Great British Bake-Off is comforting, delightful, and often the only thing standing between me and a total mental breakdown. And so I thought, what better way to explain all the books everyone has to read in school than with quotes from everyone’s favorite feel-good show?
