“The Red-Headed League” is a short story by Arthur Conan Doyle featuring his famous detective, Sherlock Holmes. It was first published in 1891 in The Strand magazine and later appeared as one of 12 stories in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes in 1892. The story is narrated by Holmes’s friend and chronicler, Dr. John Watson, and follows Holmes as he investigates a strange organization that has hired a red-headed man for a mysterious and seemingly pointless job.
