Overview
Regeneration is a historical fiction novel by Pat Barker, published in 1991
. It is the first in a trilogy of novels that also includes The Eye in the Door (1993) and The Ghost Road (1995). Regeneration is set during World War I and focuses on the real-life relationship between British soldier and poet Siegfried Sassoon and his psychiatrist, Dr. W.H.R. Rivers.
