Overview

Pigs in Heaven, a novel by American author Barbara Kingsolver published in 1993, is a sequel to her earlier work, The Bean Trees (1988). It follows the story of Taylor Greer and her adopted Cherokee daughter, Turtle, as they navigate the complexities of family, cultural identity, and belonging. Through the lens of this mother-daughter relationship, Kingsolver explores themes of cultural heritage, the importance of community, and the ways in which our choices shape our lives.
